These are nominees for Week 5 of The Albany Herald’s High School Football Player of the Week. Voting continues through noon Thursday.
ANTHONY MCINTYRE

Position: Linebacker
School/Year: Mitchell County, Jr.
Why he’s here: For the second straight week, McIntyre’s name was called out often. In a 36-22 victory over Terrell County, McIntyre finished with 12 total tackles, one quarterback sack, two tackles for loss and had three quarterback hurries.
DE’NARRIUS MORGAN

Position: Defensive back
School/Year: Westover, Sr.
Why he’s here: Morgan was all over the field in Westover’s 23-20 victory over Carver-Columbus Thursday night. The senior finished with seven tackles, two tackles for loss, blocked a punt and had a 42-yard interception return that he lateraled to Ikenine Ochie for a touchdown.
AUBREY SOLOMON

Position: Defensive Lineman
School/Year: Lee County, Sr.
Why he’s here: The defensive standout had a monster game in Lee County’s 37-7 victory over Thomas County Central Friday night. He finished with 17 tackles, two quarterback sacks and two tackles for loss. He speared-headed a defensive unit that held TCC quarterback Kelies Williams to negative 24 yards rushing
ZEB WATERS

Position: Running back/Wide receiver
School/Year: Terrell Academy, Sr.
Why he’s here: Waters had the game of his life on offense Friday night in a 35-16 victory over Flint River. The senior scored on touchdown runs of 40 and 42 yards and finished with 167 yards rushing on just eight carries. He also caught two passes for 20 yards.
