ALBANY — The Albany Police Department announced Thursday the arrest of a suspect in connection to a break-in and robbery of the Juana Vape business on Ledo Road.

According to APD Cpl. Jermiane Lewis, suspect Malakhi Aunye Perkins, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary in the second degree for the June 30 incident.

Reports indicate the suspect was seen on surveillance video using a Razor scooter to smash the glass of the establishment’s front entrance door. Once inside, the suspect smashed several display cases using a crow bar and stole an estimated 200 electronic cigarette mods and 80 SVB vapor kits.

Officers located the scooter used to break the front glass in a Dumpster located at the rear of the building.

Perkins is currently in the Dougherty County Jail.
