ALBANY — The investigation remained active on Monday on a home invasion reported to the Albany Police Department on Friday.
A police report on the incident said officers responded to 624 Corn Ave. around 4 a.m. Friday and made contact with two individuals who said they were victims in a home invasion. One said that, around 3:30 a.m., she and her boyfriend walked home from a family gathering. When they got to their home on South McKinley Street, two men approached as they opened the door.
The report said the male victim said they commanded him to empty his pockets and to get down on the ground. The woman said that, around 3:45 a.m., she and her boyfriend were shoved into their home as they opened the door and put on the floor at gunpoint.
The man said he did not see the invaders’ faces. The woman said one was dressed in a brown jacket and black pants, and that the other was wearing a black work jump suit, the report said.
The report said the woman stated that the men stole an undisclosed amount of cash, a cigarette lighter and a pocket knife from her. The man reported his Social Security card, identification, birth certificate and a loaded Direct Express MasterCard were stolen.
Officers said no visible signs of a struggle were present, and no property damage was found. Both victims said the robbers flipped over the mattress in the master bedroom, which they said they put back before calling police.
The report said case remains under investigation.
